RIVCHPP Engages Medical Directors and Billing Officers to Boost Healthcare Delivery in Rivers State
The Rivers State Contributory Health Protection Programme (RIVCHPP) has intensified its engagement with medical directors and billing officers of accredited private healthcare facilities across the state. This proactive initiative is part of concerted efforts to strengthen collaboration, streamline administrative procedures, and ultimately enhance the quality of healthcare service delivery to RIVCHPP enrollees.
Speaking at a recently concluded virtual engagement meeting, the Executive Secretary of RIVCHPP emphasized the pivotal role that private healthcare providers play in the state’s journey toward Universal Health Coverage (UHC). The interactive session served as an open forum to address pressing operational bottlenecks, resolve billing discrepancies, and establish a more efficient pathway for patient care.
According to the Executive Secretary, seamless synergy between the agency and accredited facilities is crucial to eliminating delays in service delivery. “Our mission is to ensure that every enrollee walks into any accredited facility and receives top-tier medical attention without administrative hurdles. To achieve this, we must foster mutual transparency, prompt communication, and a shared commitment to patient-centric care,” she noted.
A key focus of the meeting was the optimization of billing protocols and claims management. Billing officers were thoroughly briefed on the importance of strict compliance with RIVCHPP operational guidelines. The agency highlighted that accurate and timely submission of claims is vital to ensuring swift verification and reimbursement, thereby maintaining a healthy cash flow for the participating hospitals.
Medical directors in attendance lauded RIVCHPP for initiating the dialogue, describing it as a timely intervention to resolve outstanding operational challenges. They expressed their dedication to supporting the Rivers State Government’s health agenda, promising to uphold high standards of clinical excellence and ethical billing practices.
This collaborative effort aligns seamlessly with the healthcare reform agenda of the Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, which seeks to make healthcare accessible and affordable for all residents. By continuously engaging key stakeholders, RIVCHPP is paving the way for a more sustainable, equitable, and reliable healthcare delivery system across Rivers State.
