The Nigerian Correctional Service, Yobe State Command, has declared a convicted inmate wanted after he fled the scene of a road crash while being transported to Damaturu. The public Relation officer of the command, DSC Abdullahi Adamu, who disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday, April 15, 2026 said the escaped inmate identified as Dahiru Mohammed, is considered dangerous. According to the statement, the incident occurred on April 13, 2026, when the vehicle conveying inmates from MSCC Potiskum to Damaturu got involved in a road traffic accident. The command warns members of the public that harbouring a fugitive is a serious criminal offence punishable by law. The command urges anyone with useful information on the fleeing inmate to take immediate action by reporting to the nearest police station or correctional facility.
