If you’ve been a longtime Swiftie, then you probably know that Taylor Swift’s relationship with Travis Kelce is so different from her other romances for one big reason: the public PDA. Before Kelce, Swift rarely would hold hands with her partners in public, much less make out with them in stadiums. Kelce and Swift have captured fans’ hearts by letting them in on all the sweet moments, smooches, and silly TikToks. However, some fans are worried about the sudden 180 with the PDA, and that’s where some dating experts come in.
In a recent article for DailyMail, the outlet spoke with multiple dating experts on whether this PDA is genuine or just for show.

New York-based dating coach Megan Weks told the outlet that Swift and Kelce’s PDA makes it “clear” how “comfortable” they are.
“Taylor is definitely not overcompensating by being public with Travis. What she’s doing is being herself, something which felt stunted in previous relationships,” Weks said. “She’s never felt so supported and liberated to be exactly who she is within a relationship, and it shows.”

Along with Weks, VIP matchmaker Thalia Ouimet agreed with this sentiment, adding Swift seems more “secure” than ever, and that they’re not doing it to show off.
“As a matchmaker and dating coach, I see this relationship being so public because Taylor is confident in her relationship and Travis makes her feel secure. She isn’t at all showing off, in fact she just [seems] in love. We all know that feeling of thinking we found ‘the one’ and wanting to share it with the world,” she said.
So there you have it; while many naysayers believe the PDA is all a front, dating experts claim quite the opposite. And if that’s true, we’re so happy for Swift and Kelce!

For those who don’t know, Kelce and Swift made their relationship public in Sept 2023, but she told fans during her Person of the Year interview that they actually got together soon after his podcast episode in July 2023.
