YOU DON’T want to hear that the Waziri Adamawa stood NO CHANCE against the President at the last elections because THE NUMBERS were not there.
YOU DON’T want to hear that The WAVE of PASSION and EMOTION which propelled BUHARI to his first win after several attempts had become even more solid ESPECIALLY in his Native NORTHERN base which HAD THE NUMBERS.
YOU DON’T want to hear that the OPPOSITION PDP had become so FRAGMENTED and a rushed conclave of Politicians DESPERATELY seeking Protection, to cover previous atrocities, and a return to the old days of EXCESSES and heightened CORRUPTION.
YOU DON’T want to hear that NIGERIA had NO CHOICE but to go through HARDSHIP in the quest to turn her around from a FALSE ECONOMY, ala Voodoo Economics, and DELUSIONS of GREATNESS.
YOU DIDN’T want to imagine that despite the pretentious show of AFFLUENCE, Nigeria and Nigerians were facing the Abyss and BROKE.
BUT YOU WANTED TO BELIEVE that…
The Elections were going to be about CERTIFICATES, ISLAMISATION, FANCY MANIFESTOS, SOCIAL MEDIA FAKE STORIES.
The Elections were going to be won on Wishes, Horses and Pigs Flying.
PRETTY BOYS won Elections on the strength of their ability to speak GOOD ENGLISH ala BUKOLA SARAKI.
HOWEVER, WHAT YOU NEED and NEEDED to UNDERSTAND ….
Is that BUHARI had become a demi-god in the minds of his core base …
Is that the GENERATION of the Bukola Sarakis had FAILED, given the opportunities they had, to make a difference in our politics while the rest of them spent, and still spend, an inordinate amount of WASTED TIME debating and rehashing Nigeria’s PROBLEMS rather than use their much-acclaimed intellect to UNDERSTAND, ACCEPT and PREPARE a THIRD FORCE EARLY ENOUGH to challenge the STATUS QUO towards ANY Upcoming Elections.
Is that BUHARI’s INDIVIDUAL image of INCORRUPTIBILITY is, was and would be hard to shake NO MATTER the FALSE NARRATIVE directed at him or it.
SO, Here are a few things you may or may not want to believe:
IF there is no EARLY START to a CREDIBLE, LARGE platform, under any guise, then PRESIDENT BUHARI will have a say in who becomes the NEXT PRESIDENT after him in 2023.
IF the GENERATION of the Bukola Sarakis do not spend less time regurgitating Nigeria’s problems and circulating False News and Narratives or PANDERING to popular but ultimately USELESS mantras then NOTHING is going to be much different for them come 2023 and beyond.
IF no existing Political Party builds a FORMIDABLE NATIONWIDE STRUCTURE and/or show EXCELLENT PERFORMANCE/S where it has existing STATE and LOCAL GOVERNMENT Executives and Representatives, then the RULING PARTY today WILL WIN AGAIN come 2023.
ON THE CURRENT STATE of PLAY…… let me say this now and THREE YEARS early…
The NEXT PRESIDENT of NIGERIA, come 2023, will be PROFESSOR YEMI OSINBAJO…. but you do not want to believe that. All BUHARI needs to do is RAISE the VICE-PRESIDENT’S HAND in the NORTH.
He HAS EARNED it.
