The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain and former Delta State gubernatorial aspirant,  Sunny Onuesoke, has wondered why Nigerians are so much interested in the political crisis in Rivers State when there are so many problems bedeviling the country.

Reacting to the crisis in Rivers State yesterday while responding to questions from journalists at Asaba International Airport, Asaba, Delta State,  Onuesoke wondered what was so special about the crisis in Rivers that has beclouded the problems that are facing Nigeria as a country.

He said: “People are dying of hunger, there is no fuel, no food, no drugs in hospital and insecurity has enveloped the whole country. Instead of Nigerians to concentrate on how to move Nigeria forward, they are busy wasting their energy on two persons who are fighting for power in Rivers State. Let us leave Rivers State alone and focus on our various states and how to take Nigerians out of the present hardship.”

“What is so special about Rivers state?   What is happening in Rivers State that is not happening in other states in Nigeria? “Is there any state that does not have the peculiarity of Rivers’ problem? All the states have their own problems. So what is all this noise about Rivers State? Why are we stressing ourselves about APC, Wike and Fubara and making them to be celebrities?
