The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, has called on political support groups to intensify efforts toward securing the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027.
Speaking in Abuja on Monday at the National Symposium of the Integrity Group of Nigeria, Yilwatda underscored the critical role of support associations in democratic processes, particularly during election campaigns.
He noted that such groups are instrumental in policy promotion, voter mobilisation, and leadership recruitment.
Represented at the event by Atah Pine, Professor of Political Science and aide of the National Chairman, Yilwatda expressed confidence in the group’s capacity to strengthen democratic participation and contribute meaningfully to the administration’s success.
The APC chairman explained that support groups operate alongside political parties, aligning with their vision and objectives. He cited the Integrity Group as a strategic partner contributing to the success of the Tinubu administration.
Yilwatda commended the President’s policy direction, highlighting ongoing economic reforms, infrastructure development, and social investment programmes. He urged members of the Integrity Group to actively promote these initiatives and rally public support across the country.
He further stressed the importance of identifying and nurturing emerging leaders, encouraging members of the group to position themselves for service in government.
In his remarks, the Director-General of the Integrity Group of Nigeria, Oke Idawene, reaffirmed the group’s commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, describing it as a strategic pathway toward achieving a $1 trillion economy for Nigeria by 2030.
Idawene said members of the group consider themselves “proud ambassadors” of the administration’s vision, stressing their resolve to promote national unity and consolidation. He cautioned against actions that could undermine the country’s cohesion, noting that unity remains central to sustainable development.
The DG expressed optimism about improvements in the economy and security, attributing them to ongoing government efforts. He also led participants in a minute of silence in honour of victims of recent attacks in Jos, underscoring the importance of peace and collective responsibility in nation-building.
Highlighting the group’s engagement strategy, Idawene disclosed plans to convene a series of regional summits across the country, including the North-East, North-West, South-South, and South-East, following an earlier national summit held in Abuja. According to him, the initiative is aimed at deepening inclusion and fostering nationwide participation in governance.
He urged Nigerians to support government policies and embrace collective action for national progress, reiterating the group’s commitment to strengthening unity and advancing development across the country.
