The Oyo State House of Assembly has summoned officials of the Ministry of Lands, Housing, and Urban Development to appear before its Committee on Lands and Survey.
The Speaker, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin gave the directive at the plenary session on Tuesday.
The directive, according to him, became imperative over alleged fraudulent and irregular land transactions by ministry officials.
The meeting, as made known by the Speaker, will hold on Thursday, November 13.
According to the Speaker, the meeting is aimed at unravelling the truth behind some allegations received by the House and ensuring transparency.
Recall that the Committee on Lands and Survey is expected to engage key officials from the ministry, surveyors, and concerned stakeholders.
Hon. Ogundoyin stressed that the Assembly remains committed to accountability and due process in public service, especially in sectors that directly affect citizens’ livelihoods and investments.
The outcome of Thursday’s meeting is expected to guide the Assembly’s next line of action, which could include recommendations for disciplinary measures or policy reforms.
