Arik Air has made a refund of N158,000 to Nkoyo Udoh, the Lagos-based fresh graduate who booked a flight for three of her relatives.
Excited Udoh confirmed the refund of her ticket fees to FIJ on Wednesday.
“They have refunded the money. I am super excited and do not have the right words to express my gratitude,” she told FIJ.
“I am grateful for your support. God bless the FIJ team.”

The refund from Arik Air.
FIJ had reported how Udoh’s N158,000 was trapped after an unsuccessful booking with the airline on April 17. This followed Udoh’s statement that when she contacted Airk Air about the failed transaction, the airline asked her to make another payment as she couldn’t get the ticket numbers with the first transaction.
“I made another payment to them and hoped they would issue a refund of the first fee,” she told FIJ.
The fresh graduate said that she had visited Arik Air’s head office in Ikeja, Lagos, more than six times to resolve the unsuccessful transaction.
“I frequent their head office as often as I can despite the high cost of transportation, all to get a refund from them. But whenever I get there, they don’t even attend to me. At other times, they just tell me to go that they will refund me, yet nothing has happened,” she said.

“The last time I went there, they saw me crying, and they called one of their staff, who works in the refund department, to assist me. He gave me his number, but when I chatted him after I got home, he didn’t respond.”
Udoh’s N158,000 was returned a day after FIJ’s story.
